How does the AI voice interview actually work?
Candidates click your unique link, answer 5 pre-screening questions about basic requirements such as work authorization and availability, and then start a voice interview with our AI. The interview takes about 7 minutes and covers experience, soft skills, and motivation. Everything happens in the browser — no app download, no scheduling. You receive the ranked results the moment they finish.

Is the AI score reliable?
The score is a starting point, not a final verdict. Vocalinn summarizes job-relevant answers and highlights likely strengths or gaps, but managers should review the summary, transcript and audio before deciding who to contact. Early GM feedback suggests the score is most useful as a first filter, not a final hiring decision.

What happens to candidates who don't speak English well?
For roles where English communication is important, managers can review the candidate’s communication clarity based on their interview answers. For roles that don’t require strong English (housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance) candidates can complete the interview in Spanish.

Can I customize the interview questions?
No. Voice interview questions are fixed by hotel-role template to keep results consistent. You can configure the pre-screening requirements, such as work authorization, shift availability and other role-specific criteria.

What if an interview goes wrong or the candidate has a bad experience?
Every interview is recorded and transcribed — you can listen to any interview to verify quality. If an interview fails due to a technical issue (dropped connection, unclear audio), it doesn't count toward your plan quota and the candidate can retry.

What counts as "one interview"?
An interview only counts when a candidate completes a voice interview with the AI. Pre-screening questions don't count, those are unlimited on every plan. If a candidate starts the voice interview but drops off mid-way, it only counts when the AI has enough data to produce a score, minimum 60 seconds.

Where does my candidate data live, and who has access?
Candidate data is stored securely and retained for 6 months after your subscription ends, unless deleted earlier. You can request deletion of candidate data at any time. Vocalinn is designed to support GDPR and CCPA data rights, and we never sell candidate data.
